This position serves as a Supervisory Scientist (Geographer) in the Geographic Information & Services Branch of the Explosion Effects and Consequences Division. The incumbent serves as GIS Technical Manager and Senior GIS Subject Matter Expert. Key duties include: fostering a research environment for geospatial products and services; assisting the Division Director with program planning and budget preparation; scheduling division resources for workforce and facility utilization; promoting GIS deployment across EXWC, NAVFAC, and Navy operations; and serving as Project Manager establishing strategy, objectives, and performance measures. Applicants must hold current GISP certification and demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to ND-02 or GS-05 through GS-11 level, including wide GIS application expertise from concept to delivery, knowledge of Explosives Safety Siting software and 3D data techniques, project management experience with proposals and budgeting, coordinating GI&S projects within constraints, and deploying GIS-centric services including mapping applications and cloud environments. Education must include a bachelor's degree in geography or related field with minimum 24 semester hours in geography coursework. Salary: $104,349-$190,627 annually. Grade: ND-3. Requires Secret security clearance.
