West Virginia University's Department of Geology and Geography invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor of Forensic GIS with a preferred start date of August 2026. The position supports the department's online MS program in Geographic and Information Science and Spatial Analysis, which is nationally and internationally renowned. The normal teaching load is 4-4, requiring 8 online courses per academic year and up to two courses during summer. Fully remote work is possible with approval from the Department Chair and Dean. Appointments are renewable for up to three-year terms with no limit on renewals. Required qualifications include a PhD in Geography or related geospatial science field and ability to teach at least four of the following: geospatial data science, Python programming, crime mapping/Forensic GIS, Web GIS development, 3D crime scene reconstruction, or OSINT/GEOINT. Must have experience teaching in asynchronous online environments and outstanding mentoring skills.
