Visiting Faculty: Geographic Information Systems - Bard College Location: Annandale-on-Hudson, New York Category: Teaching / Visiting Faculty (Academic) Bard College's Center for Environmental Policy (CEP) is recruiting a visiting faculty member to instruct an introductory GIS course within their Master of Science in Environmental Policy program during spring 2026. The position is based at the Annandale-on-Hudson campus with classes meeting twice weekly. The course covers spatial information fundamentals, spatial analysis, and cartographic production using ESRI's ArcGIS software and associated apps. Students will examine the spatial distribution of environmental impacts across communities at the local, regional and national scale and complete mapping projects including storymaps. The faculty member will advise students on their culminating projects and collaborate with other CEP faculty and community partners. Qualifications & Requirements: - Master's degree in environmental studies, geography, GIS, or related field - Significant professional GIS experience - Preferred: Teaching experience and demonstrated commitment to environmental and social justice Skills: ArcGIS, spatial analysis, cartography, storymaps, environmental policy
