The Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) at the University of Florida invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Remote Sensing (30% teaching, 70% research) on the Gainesville campus. The successful candidate will develop active, nationally recognized research and teaching programs in remote sensing technologies for agricultural and natural systems, including developing algorithms and sensor technologies using fluorescence, hyperspectral, multispectral, LiDAR, and GNSS platforms; creating undergraduate and graduate courses; establishing externally funded research programs; and engaging in extension and mentorship. Requires a Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong remote sensing background.
