Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 September 2026.

GEO CAREERS is operated by Entry Group LLC, a New York limited liability company, at 418 Broadway Ste Y, Albany, NY 12207. You can reach us at contact@geo-careers.com.

This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to geo-careers.com.

What we collect

If you create an account

Your name, email address and a password, which we store hashed and cannot read.

If you fill in a profile

All of this is optional, and you choose how much to provide: education level and status, expected or actual graduation date, universities attended, degree types, majors and minors, GPA, LinkedIn and personal website addresses, phone number, work authorisation details and whether you need visa sponsorship, preferred locations, skills, and how you heard about us. You may also upload a resume.

If you apply to a job through the site

The application record, the resume attached to it, and any cover letter text you write.

If you subscribe to the newsletter

Your email address, and whether you open or click our emails.

If you are an employer

Your company name and job title, the job posts you create, and a record of your purchases. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers.

Automatically, as you browse

Which job listings are viewed, clicked and applied to, plus standard analytics collected through Google Analytics. Some of this is tied to your account when you are signed in.

Your resume, and the resume book

This is the part of the site that involves the most sensitive information, so it is worth being specific.

Sharing is off by default. Your resume is not visible to employers unless you explicitly turn on resume sharing in your profile. Uploading a resume does not opt you in.

Who can see it. If you turn sharing on, your resume and profile summary become visible in our resume book to employers who have posted a job on GEO CAREERS. Nobody else has access.

How it is stored. Resumes are held in private storage. They are not reachable at a public address. Every request for a resume file is checked against your current sharing setting before access is granted, and the resulting download link is short-lived.

Turning it off works immediately. If you switch sharing off, employer access ends at once, including for employers who previously viewed or downloaded your resume — old links stop working. The same applies if you delete your resume or your account.

What we cannot control. Once an employer has downloaded a copy of your resume, that copy is theirs. We can stop further access; we cannot retrieve what has already been downloaded.

If you apply directly to a job, the employer who posted that job can see the resume attached to your application, whether or not resume sharing is on. That is the point of applying.

How we use it

To run your account and show you relevant jobs; to deliver applications to employers; to operate the resume book if you have opted in; to send the newsletter and job alerts you asked for; to process employer payments; to understand which parts of the site are useful; and to detect abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Who else touches your data

We use a small number of service providers to run the site:

  • Heroku (Salesforce) — hosting and the application database.
  • Amazon Web Services (S3) — private storage for uploaded files, in the US East (Ohio) region.
  • Stripe — employer payments. Stripe collects card details directly; we receive only a record that a payment succeeded.
  • Google Analytics — usage measurement.
  • An email delivery provider, to send account, alert and newsletter email.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure usage. You can block cookies in your browser; signing in will not work without the session cookie.

How long we keep it

Account and profile information is kept while your account exists. Applications and their attached resumes are kept so that both you and the employer retain a record of them. Analytics and job-view records are kept in aggregate. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, your uploaded resume and your saved jobs.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete your account and the data attached to it, or stop sending you email. Most of this you can do yourself from your profile page; for anything else, email contact@geo-careers.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. We apply the rights described above to everyone, wherever you are.

Children

GEO CAREERS is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell account holders by email.
