Binghamton University's Department of Geography invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in geography with research specialization in Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI), Spatial Data Science, and Geographic Information Science and Remote Sensing more broadly. The anticipated start date is August 17, 2026 at Binghamton, NY. The Department offers BA and MA degrees and provides a collegial atmosphere, with departmental expertise spanning all of geography while urban geographies and GIScience remain areas of focus and strength. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses across GeoAI, spatial data science, GIS, cartography/geovisualization, spatial analysis, and related topics; conduct an active externally-funded research program; mentor MA students; and contribute to service to the department and profession. The Department houses a GIS and Remote Sensing Core Facility supporting teaching and research. Required qualifications: PhD in Geography or a closely related field, conferred by August 17, 2026.
