The Maritime Safety Office of NGA's Source Operations and Management Directorate is recruiting for Cartographers (GS-1370 series) to support digital nautical charting maintenance and production and generate mission-specific geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) datasets. Position is open 04/13/2026 to 04/25/2026 at IA-03 pay scale with salary range $85,447 - $158,322 per year. One vacancy in Springfield, VA. Maritime Cartographers compile, evaluate, and review hydrographic and maritime geospatial data in support of safety-of-navigation and national security missions. Duties include maintaining digital nautical charts, extracting features from source imagery and hydrographic surveys, and producing GEOINT products to NGA and international standards. Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years experience in Cartography that includes current GIS tools, or demonstrated equivalent experience. Desirable experience: creating or administrating GIS databases and tools, using GIS techniques to enhance analysis or produce geospatial intelligence, and knowledge of nautical chart production workflows.
