Cartography Technician

This Cartography Technician position sits in the Pinal County Assessor's Office and supports the maintenance of the County's cadastral mapping and parcel records. Work involves interpreting legal descriptions, deeds, plats, and survey documents to create and maintain parcel maps and associated GIS data; splitting and combining parcels; assigning parcel numbers; and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Assessor's cartographic records. The technician uses GIS and CAD software to draft and update maps, researches recorded documents to resolve boundary and ownership discrepancies, responds to inquiries from the public, title companies, surveyors, and other County departments, and assists with quality control of mapping data.
