About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

Duties

  • Serve as the Geospatial Information System (GIS) manager responsible for the administration of the GIS program.
  • Direct the daily activities of the Directorate of Public Works GIS system.
  • Develop schedules to meet project needs, develop project work assignments, monitor progress and manages GIS resources to meet project schedules and mission requirements.
  • Update and maintain installation maps, gathering data from surveys, both visual and physical, and real property data.
  • Maintain GIS archives for completed and ongoing project data and drawing files.
  • Participate in developing cost estimates for GIS services and in writing contract specifications for GIS related work, such as data acquisition.
  • Upgrade and maintain GIS, mapping, and engineering application software.
  • Serve as the data manager and data base administrator (OBA) for the GIS data for the installation.
  • Coordinate with the Network Enterprise Command (NEC) to acquire appropriate server space, and authority to operate, for GIS software and data.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting with developing schedules to meet requirements of the project; 2) Reviewing data to ensure data is accurate and consistent; AND 3) Providing guidance to users on issues that may arise with Geospatial Information System (GIS) software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Conditions of Employment

  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
  • May be required to travel (TDY) 10% of the time for business purposes.

Salary: Starting at $74,678 Per year (GS 11)
