Geographic Information System Analyst

The Village of Carol Stream is hiring a Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst to join the Information Technology team. The role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and actively supporting the Village's Geographic Information System with a focus on ESRI platforms, supporting asset management initiatives, maintaining infrastructure data through as-built attribution, and expanding the use of GIS to improve operational decision-making and service delivery. Responsibilities: - Administer and maintain the Village's ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments - Develop web maps, dashboards, and applications for staff and public use - Maintain enterprise spatial datasets including parcels, infrastructure, addressing, and utility data - Support asset management initiatives and integrate GIS with operational systems - Provide GIS training, documentation, and technical support to departmental users - Collaborate with Public Works, Engineering, Police, and Community Development on geospatial needs Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience - ESRI Technical Certification, GISP certification, or ability to obtain relevant GIS certifications within a reasonable timeframe - Three years of progressively responsible GIS experience - Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, and basic scripting (Python/Arcade) - Strong written and verbal communication skills Compensation: Starting salary $82,155-$95,155 DOQ.
