Geographic Information System Specialist II

The Idaho Geological Survey at the University of Idaho seeks a GIS Specialist II to support a multidisciplinary team advancing the Survey's geologic mapping initiatives. Primary responsibilities include developing and managing geospatial databases, performing GIS analyses, editing and laying out digital geologic maps and cartography, interpreting spatial data, providing technical guidance to survey staff, and publishing geologic data products with compliance to state and federal metadata standards. Requires two years using GIS software and spatial analysis techniques, plus either a master's degree in a related field or a bachelor's with two additional years of GIS experience. Full-time, 1.0 FTE, non-exempt, with occasional travel to Boise and professional conferences. Priority consideration through July 17, 2026. Salary $30.00/hour or higher based on experience.
