Under direction, Geographic Information Systems Analysts apply knowledge of GIS to a variety of projects for analytical purposes; design, compile, and analyze data; and prepare mapping materials for county departments and the public. Key responsibilities include performing complex analytical tabular and spatial queries, integrating disparate spatial and tabular databases, maintaining GIS standards, and designing spatial analysis tasks. Salary: Level I $85,691.52-$103,348.56 annually; Level II $95,108.04-$121,396.32 annually. Permanent full-time, Countywide. Minimum qualifications require one of the following: a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; four years full-time paid experience performing analytical duties in these fields; or equivalent education substituted for experience. Required knowledge includes AutoCAD software, ESRI-based GIS software and its applications, relational database systems, data maintenance techniques, complex GIS analysis, and software quality assurance. A valid California Driver License may be required.
