The World Food Programme is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Officer (CST II) for its South Sudan Country Office in Juba. The role provides GIS mapping services for the office and technical support in line with HQ policies on the use and dissemination of GIS data. Key duties include maintaining GIS databases and delivering map products on schedule, focusing on logistics, Programme, Emergency, Security, UNHAS mapping, flood assessment, roads rehabilitation projects and warehouse maps; synchronizing spatial data with Headquarters to ensure consistency; managing the delivery of newly acquired field data through cleaning, processing and integration into WFP systems; compiling and disseminating logistics and mapping information to the humanitarian community to support coordination and operational planning; developing geographic information policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs); and maintaining global geo-databases including satellite imagery and gazetteers. Requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing or Spatial Information Technology and Esri certifications.
