The intern will support UNDP's SDG Integration Team within the Global Policy Network, focusing on building geospatial hazard and risk capabilities within DFx GeoHub, a complex stack of open-source GIS services and applications designed to provide UNDP policy makers and stakeholders with geospatial tools for data-driven decision-making. Key responsibilities: Curate and ingest geospatial data (raster and vector) into UNDP databases; develop quality control methods for ingested data; design cartographic materials using QGIS and Mapbox; document geospatial hazard and risk models; generate data layers from remote sensing sources (floods, earthquakes, landslides); test geospatial models in cloud-based environments; support presentations and GIS research. Required qualifications: Applicants must be enrolled in graduate school, in final year of Bachelor's degree or equivalent, graduated within one year of application, or enrolled in postgraduate professional traineeship program. English required. Contract Type: Internship (6 months), home-based supporting SDG Integration team in New York.
