Geospatial Hazard and Risk Intern

The intern will support UNDP's SDG Integration Team within the Global Policy Network, focusing on building geospatial hazard and risk capabilities within DFx GeoHub, a complex stack of open-source GIS services and applications designed to provide UNDP policy makers and stakeholders with geospatial tools for data-driven decision-making. Key responsibilities: Curate and ingest geospatial data (raster and vector) into UNDP databases; develop quality control methods for ingested data; design cartographic materials using QGIS and Mapbox; document geospatial hazard and risk models; generate data layers from remote sensing sources (floods, earthquakes, landslides); test geospatial models in cloud-based environments; support presentations and GIS research. Required qualifications: Applicants must be enrolled in graduate school, in final year of Bachelor's degree or equivalent, graduated within one year of application, or enrolled in postgraduate professional traineeship program.
