UCR seeks a forward-thinking Geospatial Information Librarian to advance geospatial literacy and research across disciplines. The role supports researchers and students in using geospatial data, GIS tools, and methods. The position reports to the Director of Research Services within the Research Services Department and offers opportunities to partner with Esri, headquartered nearby. Key Responsibilities: - Provide instruction on GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) for faculty, students, and staff - Develop and maintain geospatial resource guides, tutorials, and learning materials - Organize symposia, workshops, and outreach events related to geospatial scholarship - Collaborate across campus departments and with external partners to advance GIS research - Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI applications in geospatial work - Support data discovery, acquisition, and management of geospatial collections Qualifications: - ALA-accredited MLIS, relevant graduate degree, or equivalent experience - Demonstrated GIS and mapping software expertise (ArcGIS, QGIS) - Teaching/instruction ability - Strong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of AI applications in GIS - Familiarity with UAV/drone workflows - Data analysis programming (Python, R) Salary Range: $72,224 - $164,959.
