The University of Iowa Libraries seeks a Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Developer/Specialist to serve as the technical lead for GIS-related projects supported by the University Libraries, working in close partnership with the Research Manager in the Digital Scholarship and Publishing Studio. Responsibilities include performing geospatial data analysis to support faculty, staff, and students, developing web mapping applications, and developing materials for and assisting with GIS trainings. Requires a bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software development experience, hands-on proficiency with ArcGIS/QGIS for spatial data creation and visualization, and strong coding skills in web mapping libraries such as Leaflet JS and Mapbox GL JS, plus HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, SHP, CSV, XML) and Python geoprocessing (ArcPy, PyQGIS) is desirable. Starting salary $66,000-$80,000; on-campus or hybrid within Iowa.
