Ducks Unlimited, the world's leading wetland and waterfowl conservation organization, is hiring a Geospatial Technician based at its Western Regional Office in Rancho Cordova, CA (Sacramento area). This full-time, 12-month position supports the update of the National Wetlands Inventory in the western United States. The Geospatial Technician will gain experience in wetlands mapping, photo interpretation, GIS data development, field data collection, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Field Maps. Duties include digitizing and editing wetland polygons from high-resolution aerial imagery and LiDAR-derived datasets; applying the Cowardin wetland classification system; conducting quality control on geospatial deliverables; collaborating with senior GIS staff and biologists; and contributing to methodology documentation. Required qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in a natural resources field of study (wildlife biology, ecology, geography, environmental science, or related), demonstrated experience with ESRI software products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online), strong attention to detail, ability to work efficiently at a computer workstation for extended periods, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with wetland classification, photo interpretation, and/or remote sensing is preferred. Pay rate is $20.00 per hour.
