GIS Analyst 1-3

The City of Renton seeks a qualified GIS professional to support Public Works' GIS and Asset Management objectives through data management, application innovation, and infrastructure planning. The role offers a hybrid arrangement allowing up to 2 days of remote work per week. This posting is open at three levels; candidates are considered at the level matching their experience. GIS Analyst 1 responsibilities include editing spatial data, creating GIS datasets, completing data requests, supporting field data collection, producing maps and interactive applications, performing spatial analysis, acquiring external data, and training GIS users. GIS Analyst 2 adds complex project management duties, leading GIS initiatives, reviewing projects for compliance, potentially supervising staff, and performing advanced database design and maintenance work. GIS Analyst 3 emphasizes advanced analysis, monitoring dashboards, high-level project leadership, workflow automation, database scripting, vendor coordination, and mentoring junior staff. Qualifications: - GIS Analyst 1: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of GIS experience using software for mapping, spatial analysis, and database generation; or a minimum of 6 years of relevant combined education and experience. - GIS Analyst 2: Bachelor's degree in the same fields plus a minimum of 4 years of GIS experience; or a minimum of 8 years of relevant combined education and experience. - GIS Analyst 3: Bachelor's degree in the same fields plus a minimum of 6 years of GIS experience; or a minimum of 10 years of relevant combined education and experience. All levels require a background check and fingerprint records check. Salary: GIS Analyst 1 $92,724 - $112,920; GIS Analyst 2 $97,368 - $118,692; GIS Analyst 3 $104,856 - $127,764 annually. Physical demands include movement throughout facilities, computer operation, communication with staff and residents, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds. Work environment is office-based with occasional outdoor work in all weather, moderate noise levels, and possible evening/weekend hours and night meetings.
