GIS Analyst I

The City of Alexandria, VA Information Technology Services Department seeks a GIS Analyst I for the Emerging Technology and Advanced Analytics Division. This position focuses on maintaining spatial data accuracy for critical city systems like streets, routing, and addresses. Key responsibilities: edit and update GIS layers with current asset data; develop and manage spatial datasets through data modeling and geodatabase schema work; perform quality control for base mapping initiatives; execute ETL processes to transfer GIS data to third-party applications; automate workflows using Python scripts, ModelBuilder, and FME tools; integrate spatial and tabular databases from multiple agencies; maintain comprehensive GIS documentation and metadata; and advise city departments on leveraging GIS technology for business processes. Requirements: bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Earth Sciences, Urban Planning, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Preferred: two years of experience with ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro or AGOL. Salary range: $52,115.70 - $91,711.10 annually. Employment type: Full-Time, Flexible/Hybrid Remote.
