Thurston County is hiring a GIS Analyst II. The position involves managing GIS projects across county departments, including emergency services mapping, enterprise data design, and dashboard development. Key responsibilities include technical problem-solving, staff training development, GIS software installation and tracking, spatial data stewardship, research and evaluation of new GIS technologies, cartographic product creation, data sharing management, web map application development, public customer support, and documentation of GIS processes. Required qualifications: Associate's degree in computer science, management information, engineering, geography, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred); two years of GIS mapping field work or applied GIS technology experience; demonstrated knowledge of hardware including computers, servers, communication devices, printers, and plotters; thorough software knowledge including operating systems, office automation, programming, and databases; system and network security knowledge; current Washington State Driver's License; and ability to pass a security background investigation. Desired skills: proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro 3.x and later, SDE database experience, Parcel Fabric knowledge, customer support abilities, cartographic skills, ArcGIS Online/Portal familiarity, strong interpersonal skills, public presentation capability, and project management competency.
