A Senior GIS Analyst performs advanced technical and professional level GIS analysis and data development tasks within the City's Enterprise Geographic Information System. The role manages department GIS projects, develops business processes, configures field operations applications, and serves in a lead capacity with oversight responsibilities. Key duties: manages and maintains GIS layers and departmental data while ensuring compliance with standards; performs quality assurance on existing data and implements QA/QC processes; designs and manages web- and mobile-enabled applications; integrates legacy records into modern digital databases; provides oversight and training to GIS staff and department end-users; collaborates with the IT Department on geospatial data updates; researches and files legal documents for engineering projects; performs field verification using GPS equipment and mobile GIS applications. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, or civil engineering plus 4 years using/analyzing GIS data; OR Associate's degree in a related field plus 6 years GIS experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Virginia driver's license required; must pass background check and drug screening. Previous project management and supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge and skills: advanced GIS knowledge, cartographic principles, Microsoft Office proficiency, database and programming experience, advanced mathematics competency, and technical skills with ArcGIS Pro, ArcCatalog, Survey123, Field Maps, and the Esri software suite. Salary: GIS Analyst $61,455.89-$74,002.72; Senior GIS Analyst $75,286.10-$92,206.00 annually. Closes August 6, 2026.
