The GIS Analyst will support the City of Houston's Enterprise Geographic Information System (EGIS) within the Planning and Development Department by performing advanced GIS development and technical support. Responsibilities include producing maps, reports, and analyses using GIS and various database software; researching and evaluating source data; developing and implementing data topology procedures; converting data between software platforms; and geocoding data files with accuracy. The analyst designs high-quality cartographic products using ArcGIS Pro, performs advanced GIS editing in a multi-user versioned environment, creates and maintains enterprise database layers, develops web maps and dashboards via ArcGIS Online, and conducts spatial and network analyses using Esri extensions. Automation duties involve creating workflows through ModelBuilder, Python, and Arcade. The position serves as the primary contact for addressing-related inquiries, assigns addresses and road centerlines within city limits, maintains daily data quality standards, and provides customer support for address assignment and validation. Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Planning, Geography, Computer Science, or related field; professional GIS experience may substitute year-for-year. Salary $2,134.00 - $2,600.96 biweekly (Pay Grade 20).
