General Definition: Performs intermediate technical work developing GIS solutions and managing special projects under general direction of the GIS Coordinator, with oversight of seasonal staff. Full-time position in the Project Administration Department.
Essential Functions
- Develops GIS solutions and manages projects by consulting with County departments.
- Develops and implements workflow processes, procedural documentation, and business rules for County-wide GIS data.
- Plans, designs, develops, and maintains the County's GIS web services and applications.
- Develops, enhances, and maintains GIS databases using various programming tools.
- Creates and maintains County GIS datasets, emphasizing parcel fabric and NG911 address data.
- Performs advanced spatial analysis to create informative products.
- Applies photogrammetric and cartographic techniques for analytical mapping support.
- Provides technical support and training to GIS users and project teams.
- Serves as Team Leader, assigning work to seasonal staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, computer science, or a related field.
- Two years of GIS technologies experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license required upon hire.
- FAA 107 Certification for drone operation within one year of employment.
Required Skills
GIS application development, knowledge of ArcGIS products, scripting languages (Python, Arcade, HTML, Java), database management, spatial analysis, and communication abilities.
Physical Requirements
Occasional exertion up to 25 pounds; regular sitting and computer work; frequent speaking/hearing; occasional standing, walking, and outdoor exposure.
