GIS Coordinator (GIS Project Manager)

The Metropolitan Council, the regional government for the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area, is hiring a GIS Coordinator (GIS Project Manager). The position involves end-to-end management of GIS projects, including scope definition, gathering technical requirements, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk mitigation. The role requires translating business requirements into technical specifications while coordinating across multiple divisions and external partners. Responsibilities: - Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of GIS projects across the agency - Translate business requirements into technical specifications - Coordinate with division GIS staff, IT, and external vendors - Manage data quality and vendor relationships - Facilitate training on GIS applications and best practices - Document standards, workflows, and project deliverables Requirements: Candidates need a high school diploma with 9 years of experience, or progressively less experience with higher education (associate, bachelor's, or master's degrees). Desired qualifications include experience with ArcGIS products, managing complex projects, and working in diverse environments. Familiarity with spatial data structures, project management methodologies, and enterprise IT concepts is preferred. Salary: $95,804.80-$155,396.80 annually.
