The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the Brazilian Space Agency, is seeking a Portuguese-speaking GIS Course Guide Fellow to drive the Future Tech Leaders Programme in the SDG AI Lab, working remotely or from Istanbul. The fellow will design cutting-edge curricula, mentor young tech specialists, and utilize artificial intelligence and Geographic Information Systems to achieve global Sustainable Development Goals. Responsibilities are split across curriculum development (50%), Portuguese-speaking community engagement (30%), digital solutions development (10%), and administrative support (10%). The fellow will develop and implement Geographic Information Systems components within the Space Tech Bootcamp and Community Trainings for the Future Tech Leaders Programme in Brazil, design GIS curriculum, deliver training sessions, conduct research, and support knowledge management activities. Requirements include current enrollment in a postgraduate program (Master's level or higher) in GIS, Geography, Data Science, Geodesics, Cartography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; strong Python programming skills; practical experience with automated workflows and Jupyter Notebook; proven expertise with QGIS or ArcGIS, GDAL, Rasterio, Geopandas, and Fiona; fluency in both Portuguese and English (reading and writing) is an absolute requirement. The position offers a Home Based option, allowing fully remote teaching and curriculum development.
