Position with the U.S. Army Integrated Training Area Management Division at Fort Hood, TX. The incumbent serves as the Functional Subject Matter Expert relating to Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), specializing in GIS analysis and Remote Sensing applications for the Sustainable Range Program (SRP). The position involves independently planning, coordinating, and performing complex analytical assignments using Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), overseeing GIS data production and analysis, and providing technical expertise to other geographers. Duties include developing, managing, coordinating, maintaining, and implementing geospatial and other database management systems in accordance with Land Resources Division and national data standards. Work supports natural and cultural resource management, training land sustainability, and military mission planning. Position is GS-12 with a salary range of $89,508 - $116,362 per year. This is a temporary promotion appointment that may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 5 years by a current permanent Army employee.
