GIS Specialist - Honduras (UNDP-HND-00596)

UNDP Honduras seeks a GIS Specialist consultant under contract UNDP-HND-00596 (Servicios de Consultoria Especialista en GIS, Honduras). The consultant will provide technical GIS services to support UNDP Honduras programming on climate, disaster risk, biodiversity, and sustainable development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain spatial datasets and geodatabases supporting UNDP Honduras projects
• Conduct spatial analysis to inform programmatic decisions related to climate adaptation, biodiversity, and disaster risk reduction
• Produce maps, dashboards, and visualizations using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
• Support partner government agencies and civil society organizations in geospatial data sharing and capacity building
• Document data sources, metadata, and methodology for reproducibility and audit
• Coordinate with UNDP regional and global geospatial teams.

Required Qualifications

• University degree in geography, GIS, environmental sciences, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in GIS and spatial analysis
• Proficiency in Spanish and working knowledge of English
• Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, Python, and remote sensing platforms (Google Earth Engine, Sentinel Hub).
