GIS Specialist - Honduras (UNDP-HND-00596)

UNDP Honduras seeks a GIS Specialist consultant under contract UNDP-HND-00596 (Servicios de Consultoria Especialista en GIS, Honduras). The consultant will provide technical GIS services to support UNDP Honduras programming on climate, disaster risk, biodiversity, and sustainable development. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain spatial datasets and geodatabases supporting UNDP Honduras projects; Conduct spatial analysis to inform programmatic decisions related to climate adaptation, biodiversity, and disaster risk reduction; Produce maps, dashboards, and visualizations using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online; Support partner government agencies and civil society organizations in geospatial data sharing and capacity building; Document data sources, metadata, and methodology for reproducibility and audit; Coordinate with UNDP regional and global geospatial teams. Required Qualifications: University degree in geography, GIS, environmental sciences, or related discipline; Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in GIS and spatial analysis; Proficiency in Spanish and working knowledge of English; Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, Python, and remote sensing platforms (Google Earth Engine, Sentinel Hub).
