This position is a GIS Specialist with the National Park Service at Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GOGA), located in San Francisco, CA or Sausalito, CA. Duties: The major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Design, manage, and implement programmatic GIS, including GIS database and enterprise database management systems (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, SDE, SQL Server). Geospatial Analysis and Modeling: Using and integrating computer models and other tools to conduct spatial modeling for a wide variety of purposes including data and trends analysis, data management efficiency, etc. Develops high quality digital and hardcopy cartographic and GIS products; Provides training, software and hardware support to GOGA staff in using GIS and GPS tools and products. Communication and Collaboration: Coordinates with specialists in other disciplines, other park divisions and external partners. Communicates clearly and provides excellent customer service. Qualifications: To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) creating and managing geospatial data; (2) training others in the use of GIS and GPS applications; (3) creating geospatial data and maps following established guidelines; and (4) developing, updating, and managing map services. This position has a mandatory education requirement and you must meet the Individual Occupational Requirement for one of the following series: Geographer (0150), Biologist (0401), General Physical Science (1301), or Cartography (1370). For the Geographer 0150 series: successfully completed a degree in geography, or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields. Salary: $111,896 - $145,468 per year (GS-12). Telework eligible as determined by agency policy. Relocation expenses may be reimbursed. Conditions of employment include U.S. citizenship, background investigation, Direct Deposit, E-Verify, and a valid driver's license. Full-time career-seasonal appointment expected to work approximately 50 weeks a year.
