GIS Technician - Addressing

This full-time position involves maintaining the city's mapping, addressing, and property information.

Key responsibilities

Key responsibilities include establishing addresses and tax parcel numbers, maintaining GIS layers and related data, researching deeds and land records, and interpreting architectural and engineering plans. Using GIS, CAD, GPS, and mobile data collection tools, the technician updates maps and records, performs field assessments to verify mapped data, conducts quality checks, and assists staff and stakeholders with GIS-related questions.

Qualifications

Associate or technical degree in geographic information systems, geography, engineering, or a related field with minimal experience in computer-aided drafting, GIS, and local government operations; an equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted. ArcGIS and AutoCAD training certifications preferred but not required. Valid driver's license required. Successful candidates must pass a DMV record check, education verification, and criminal background check.
