Casey Trees, a Washington, DC nonprofit dedicated to restoring, enhancing, and protecting the tree canopy of the nation's capital, seeks a GIS Technician to connect people to trees using maps and data. Working with the Tree Operations department, the technician coordinates to deliver mapping products; prepares and maintains tree inventory and survival data; creates maintenance maps for pruning, watering, and survivability tracking; updates public-facing maps using ArcGIS Online; generates grant reports through GIS database queries; and supports staff training on GIS tools and field work. Required: a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Environmental Science, Forestry, or a related field; intermediate ArcPro proficiency (geoprocessing, geodatabases, map layouts); experience with ArcGIS Online and ESRI StoryMaps; and strong Microsoft Office skills. Pay starts at $26-$29/hour.
