Under general supervision, performs technical duties related to the collection, maintenance, and presentation of spatial data.

Primary duties

  • collects and maintains spatial data using computers for City operations;
  • assists with enterprise spatial database maintenance;
  • implements and maintains GIS enterprise-grade software;
  • maintains secure, accurate spatial data with emphasis on addresses and streets;
  • creates professional maps for staff and management;
  • promotes GIS use within the City; and
  • performs assigned duties as needed.

Minimum requirements

Associate degree or equivalent coursework in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or a related field; OR two years of technical GIS experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special requirements: valid Arizona Driver's License and must obtain Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) certification post-hire.

Required knowledge and skills

City policies and procedures, SQL, enterprise GIS software, ESRI ArcGIS Online, spatial data concepts, public records research, data standardization, process documentation, interdepartmental collaboration, and communication skills.

Salary $55,452.80-$77,376.00 annually. Closes August 3, 2026.
