The GIS Technician for the City of Springdale plays a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise GIS system, as well as ad hoc analysis, technical support, and department-specific project design.

Key responsibilities include:

  • creating graphic representations of GIS data,
  • performing spatial analysis and creating models using ArcGIS and Python scripts,
  • managing databases,
  • designing and maintaining networked GIS services,
  • providing customer service and technical support to internal and external users, and
  • coordinating with other departments and governmental entities on GIS needs.

The role manages special projects and assumes GIS Manager responsibilities when needed.

Qualifications include:

  • a technical degree in Computer Engineering, Geosciences, or a related field plus 12-18 months of experience,
  • a valid Arkansas driver's license, and
  • proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Suite, Trimble GPS, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Salary: $50,746-$76,119 annually.
