GIS Technician

The GIS Technician for the City of Springdale plays a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise GIS system, as well as ad hoc analysis, technical support, and department-specific project design. Key responsibilities include creating graphic representations of GIS data, performing spatial analysis and creating models using ArcGIS and Python scripts, managing databases, designing and maintaining networked GIS services, providing customer service and technical support to internal and external users, and coordinating with other departments and governmental entities on GIS needs. The role manages special projects and assumes GIS Manager responsibilities when needed. Qualifications include a technical degree in Computer Engineering, Geosciences, or a related field plus 12-18 months of experience, a valid Arkansas driver's license, and proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Suite, Trimble GPS, and Microsoft SQL Server. Salary $50,746-$76,119 annually.
