GIS Technician

The GIS Technician supports development, maintenance, and operation of the City of Springfield's Geographic Information System (GIS). Primary responsibilities include managing geospatial data, updating utility and public maps, conducting GPS field work, and providing GIS assistance to city departments and the public. Key duties involve data validation, digitization, map creation, GPS data collection, and generating GIS-based reports and documentation. The role requires proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS software, database management, and cartographic techniques. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, or related field (one year of experience preferred), or equivalent education/training. Must possess a valid Tennessee Class D driver's license and pass a physical examination. Position is full-time, non-exempt, based in the Engineering Department. Salary $25.61 - $35.26 per hour.
