GIS Technician

Dorchester County is seeking a GIS Technician to support the Assessor's Office through routine-to-complex technical and clerical work, including property mapping and records maintenance. Key responsibilities include survey review coordination, converting maps to digital databases, interpreting field notes, assembling technical data, creating presentation graphics, and researching legal documents for property ownership information. The technician maintains and updates the County's GIS parcel and cadastral data, responds to public inquiries, attends training seminars, and is available for emergency response as needed. Minimum qualifications: Associate degree in GIS mapping, drafting, data processing, or a related field, plus a minimum of four (4) years of related work experience. Salary range $48,198.85 - $53,018.74 annually. Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with core hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
