GIS Technician

Under supervision of the GIS-911 Programs Manager, this full-time position provides assistance with 911 addressing and geographic information system database maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with mapping functions and 911 address assignments for Hays County residents and properties.
• Maintaining the 911 database.
• Providing maps and GIS assistance to the public, county staff, and outside agencies via in-person, telephone, and email.
• Conducting data research at county offices and appraisal districts as needed.
• Performing other assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED plus one year of GIS-related experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geospatial Science, Geography, Surveying and Mapping, or a related field with no experience required.
