GIS Technician

This permanent, full-time position requires strong technical proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) along with experience in enterprise platforms and asset management tools. The ideal candidate creates and maintains geospatially-referenced data, performs both office and field assignments, and provides technical support to internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include collecting, organizing, and managing spatial and non-spatial data; performing data verification and field collection work; analyzing complex datasets and presenting findings; and supporting multiple departments and external agencies. Minimum qualifications: 60 semester units in geography, computer science, or a related field, plus one year of GIS experience (or substitute experience for education on a year-for-year basis). A valid California Class C driver's license is required within ten days of employment. Preferred qualifications include a CASQA Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) certification. Special requirements include a background investigation, fingerprinting, DMV printout, and potential Statements of Economic Interest filing. Salary range is $30.64 - $33.71 hourly ($5,311 - $5,843 monthly).
