The Polar Geospatial Center (PGC) at the University of Minnesota is hiring a Graduate Research Assistant to join the User Services team supporting polar researchers with geospatial data needs. Responsibilities include assisting polar researchers from other institutions in obtaining geospatial data, creating custom map products, managing long-term projects, and interacting with research computing resources. The PGC is part of the University of Minnesota's College of Science and Engineering and is funded by the National Science Foundation, providing high-resolution mapping and geospatial support for U.S. scientific research in the Arctic and Antarctic. This is a part-time position during the academic year (50%) scaling to 50-100% during summer 2026, renewable up to one year based on performance and funding. Candidates must be current University of Minnesota graduate students in GIS, geography, remote sensing, computer science, or a related field with experience in ArcGIS Pro and familiarity with remote sensing workflows. The position will remain open until filled.
