Hydrographic Processing Specialist

Woolpert seeks a Hydrographic Processing Specialist to process marine survey data for their hydrographic team. The role centers on transforming raw field information into precise, usable deliverables supporting engineering and construction projects across U.S. waters. Core responsibilities include processing multibeam and singlebeam hydrographic datasets using QPS Qimera software (data cleaning, refraction correction, and surface generation), handling side scan sonar work with SonarWiz (mosaicking and target classification), exporting processed data into AutoCAD Civil 3D to create bathymetric surfaces, contours, and gridded soundings, generating plan sheets, bathymetric maps, sounding sheets, and GIS-compatible datasets, and advanced data integration across multiple sensors (multibeam, singlebeam, side scan sonar, and positioning systems). Quality assurance responsibilities include performing checks to ensure accuracy and consistency with project specifications, documenting workflows, and coordinating with field teams to resolve data issues. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, ocean engineering, geology, or related fields, plus strong understanding of hydrographic survey principles. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, manages multiple datasets efficiently, and possesses strong problem-solving abilities. Compensation: $65,800-$70,000 USD annually.
