The ICT Senior Officer - Image Analyst plays a key role in delivering geospatial and image intelligence services in support of UN emergency response, peace operations, and political missions worldwide. The position is based at the UNOPS Service for Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies (SGITT) in Valencia, Spain. The incumbent applies advanced imagery and analytical techniques for situational awareness and operational planning in complex environments while ensuring compliance with UN policies. Core responsibilities include performing analysis based on sources such as satellite imagery, aerial photographs, geospatial information, and other intelligence; delivering integrated analysis combining satellite imagery, UAV data, and open-source reporting; conducting change detection and pattern analysis on multi-sensor imagery; developing innovative geospatial techniques including machine learning applications; producing intelligence outputs (maps, dashboards, written analysis) using ESRI tools; performing day-to-day liaison work with clients; conducting peer review and quality control of GIS and imagery products; and coordinating technical teams and managing analytical projects. Requirements include an advanced degree (Master's) in Remote Sensing, GIS, Geography, or related field with 2 years relevant experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with 4 years relevant experience. Minimum 2 years professional experience with ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, or comparable software is required, along with at least 1 year of imagery intelligence experience and Python scripting capability. Fluency in English required; Spanish desired.
