Imagery Analysts analyze and interpret imagery to support U.S. military and policymaker interests. They analyze the activities of countries, regions, and non-state entities, as well as the impact of natural and man-made disasters. In addition, these analysts maintain and build tasking strategies, conduct multi-INT research, populate and exploit intelligence databases, and produce and disseminate intelligence products. NGA's civilian, military, and contract personnel evaluate imagery, maps, charts, and multiple layers of geospatial foundation data to help users visualize what is happening at a particular place and time, producing actionable geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). As a condition of employment at NGA, persons being considered for employment must meet NGA fitness for employment standards, including U.S. Citizenship, a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance, polygraph and drug test, and direct deposit. You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to SCI and are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS), pay band IA-03. Salary range does not include an additional 8.64% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for Hawaii.
