Senior GEOINT Authority (SGA) for Aeronautical Navigation ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Senior GEOINT Authority (SGA) for Aeronautical Navigation serves as the Senior Representative for all issues concerning Aeronautical Safety of Navigation (SoN), and represents the Director, NGA in the Aeronautical Navigation functional management role. The SGA is the principle representative for analytical and technical issues related to NGA Aeronautical SoN GEOINT initiatives; coordinating, integrating, and orchestrating operations within the aeronautical domain. The individual must understand the SoN information provider/aviator relationship and promote effective user relations. The SGA Aero has routine and repeated contact with senior intelligence, defense, and national security officials and collaborates with senior level counterparts across NGA, IC, DoD, international partners, industry, academia, and other stakeholders across the aeronautical data domain. These include the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eurocontrol and the European Union (EU), the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG) Allied Aeronautical Steering Group (AASG), and others. The SGA Aero must fully understand and articulate national security mission directions, user needs, technical state of the art capabilities, and current research directions. The SGA works in concert with the Aeronautical Navigation Office leadership to develop organizational strategies for future operations, lining efforts between levels of NGA to align goals, objectives, and implementation activities. The SGA Aero guides the development of geospatial data standards, capabilities, tradecraft, and training for the aeronautical workforce. The SGA Aero has responsibility for ongoing evaluations of mission status and mission assessments as required. Assures investment activities are future focuses, aligned with leadership priorities, working across organizational lines to identify and respond to opportunities, securing funding for priority mission activities where possible. Additionally, the SGA Aero works with office leadership on production activities to align with long term goals within NGA and DoD community guidance and adhere to the requirements and constraints of international treaty obligations, US Code, and international regulatory agencies. As a member of the Source Component executive leadership team, the SGA Aero is expected to effectively contribute to broader mission modernization efforts (linked to NGA's Strategic Objectives) including data governance, sharing and integration, collection, and dissemination across the Source enterprise. The SGA Aero will purposefully guide modernization by advocating for alternate solutions in the realm of data services and advanced analytics. SGA's must possess the ability to lead people towards organizational vision, mission, and goals. This requires skills in conflict management, leveraging diversity, developing others, and team building. Assigned as the Occupational Manager (OM) for Aeronautical Analysis. In this role, works for the Source Career Field Manager to develop and maintain the health of the Aeronautical Analysis Occupation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and maturation of Aeronautical Analysis tradecraft by: building expert bench strength; supporting certification test development and execution; development of tradecraft materials; development of appropriate training; development of strategic workforce plans/talent development strategies in coordination with the D/SF and DD/SF and enterprise stakeholders. Incumbent will work closely with SFA tradecraft experts to provide advocacy for the training and tradecraft needs of the Aeronautical Analysis occupation, including soliciting and picking SMEs to the Aeronautical Analysis Career Development Officers (CDO) cadre. As OM, provide guidance and direction to the CDOs relative to their support as counselors and advisors to supervisors, branch and division leadership on the development of Aeronautical Analysis Occupation employees. Work as part of the Source SGA cadre to address issues of common concern and partner with others where appropriate.
