About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, Engineering and Construction Division (E&C). The St. Paul District E&C designs water resource projects to benefit the people of Minnesota, western Wisconsin, northeastern North Dakota, portions of South Dakota and Iowa, and the nation. These projects support inland navigation, flood risk management, and environmental restoration. Duties: The incumbent will serve as a Geospatial Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to accomplish the mission of the Technical Support and Services Section, Design Branch, Engineering and Construction Division. Perform assignments involving preparing and reviewing reports, interpreting data, reviewing regulations, public speaking and presentations, and instituting guidelines in the conduct of the Technical Support and Services Section work. The incumbent is considered a senior consultant/advisor and technical expert on all land surveying and Architect-Engineer (A-E) contracting for geospatial matters District-wide. Serve as the District's Subject Matter Expert for Land Surveying. Establish and adjust work priorities to conform to availability of funds and resources as well as manpower capabilities while ensuring that the organization's mission is communicated to and integrated into the team's work products and services. Serve as a technical expert in the field of land and hydrographic surveying and advise staff in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving techniques and practices. Serve as a technical team leader; assign and explain technical work requirements to junior level team members for new or changed programs, functions, goals, and processes; and establish operating guidelines to implement procedures. Qualifications: This is an interdisciplinary position; applicants may qualify under either the Civil Engineer (0810) or Land Surveyor (1373) series and must meet the positive education requirement for the series under which they apply, plus specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. Salary: $116,038 - $150,852 per year. Telework eligible as determined by agency policy.
