The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County is hiring a Surveyor for Public Utilities. The role involves performing technical surveying functions for public utilities infrastructure projects, including topographical surveys, deed research, and drafting design drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographical surveys using advanced data collection equipment for roadway and storm drainage designs.
- Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
- Design and prepare construction plans using CADD techniques.
- Research property deeds, plats, and easements.
- Operate field computers and download survey data.
- Maintain detailed field notes and documentation.
- Notify property owners of survey objectives.
- Answer technical questions and provide engineering recommendations.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Surveying, Drafting and Design, or equivalent experience (two years of surveying/drafting).
- Valid driver's license required.
- Georgia State Board Registered Survey License preferred.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Position Details
Reports to the Engineering Administrator. Non-exempt with a six-month probationary period. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing.
Salary
$54,569.00 annually. Closing date: continuous.
