The intern supports the UN Global Geodetic Centre of Excellence (UN-GGCE) hosted in Bonn, Germany, through technical and analytical contributions to advance global geodesy and geospatial information management. Responsibilities include drafting policy documents and technical briefings on geodesy and Earth observation topics; researching geodesy technologies including GNSS, satellite positioning, reference frames, and Earth observation; analyzing global geodesy supply chains, capability gaps, and infrastructure investment trends; organizing technical meetings, workshops, and Subcommittee on Geodesy sessions; supporting implementation of capacity-building projects in developing countries; and contributing to coordination, collaboration, and capacity development among Member States and geodetic organizations. The internship will provide exposure to the work of the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) and the broader UN geospatial ecosystem. Requirements include current enrollment in or completion of a graduate program (Master's or higher), OR enrollment in or completion of the final year of a first university degree (minimum Bachelor's) in geodesy, geospatial sciences, geospatial engineering, geomatics, Earth observation, geography, environmental sciences, geophysics, or a related discipline. Duration is 6 months; Grade is I-1. Position is unpaid and the intern is responsible for travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
