The GeoGraphics Lab in the Department of Geography at The Pennsylvania State University is recruiting a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research for an NIH-NSF funded project on human health, movement, and infectious diseases. This position is located on campus full-time at University Park, PA. It is not available for remote work. Successful applicants will have experience in: Development of Geovisualization tools; Spatial analysis using GIS; Human-Computer Interaction techniques to design and evaluate new mapping systems; Cartographic design; Data analysis; and Research Communication (written and verbal). The Postdoctoral Scholar will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of geographers, epidemiologists, and computer scientists to design, build, and evaluate new interactive mapping and geovisualization systems. Required Education and Experience: The position requires a completed PhD degree in Geography, Data Visualization, Epidemiology, Ecology, or a related field. Strong programming skills and prior experience with spatial data analysis, cartographic design, and interactive web mapping are desired.
