The University of Colorado Denver seeks a Senior Professional Research Assistant to serve as a GIS Specialist supporting GNSS Modernization efforts under a collaboration agreement between CU Denver and the National Park Service (NPS). The PRA is a CU Denver employee performing duties in support of NPS facilities. Responsibilities include providing geospatial mapping expertise to the ntrip.nps.gov system to communicate services and changes to NPS and beyond; educating field users (remotely and in-person) in the use of high-accuracy geospatial data collection; creating NPS-compliant geospatial products to communicate GNSS station metadata; and calculating geodetic transformations to apply National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) updates. Required skills include demonstrated proficiency with Trimble survey equipment (GNSS and scanning) and experience using the US National Spatial Reference System with survey equipment. This is a 12-month appointment with potential for extension (not guaranteed). Position is fully remote with sporadic travel for fieldwork or training. Hiring range $65,000-$68,000.
