MU Energy Management at the University of Missouri seeks a Senior Geographic Information System Specialist. Energy Management is responsible for producing, purchasing, and delivering utility services across the University of Missouri campus, including an advanced district energy system centered around a Combined Cooling, Heating, and Power Plant that heats, cools, and energizes over 17 million square feet of academic, research, athletic, and healthcare buildings. Nature of work: supervise the personnel and coordinate operations of the GIS Mapping group performing Geographic Information System mapping, applications programming, data management, surveying, and buried utility locates for all utilities, roads, parking, sidewalks, structures, and landscaping located on the MU campus and adjoining farms. Key responsibilities include daily supervision and scheduling of the GIS Mapping group; monitoring personnel performance, priorities, and strategic initiatives; coordinating technology utilized within the group; updating existing GIS data to reflect changes to campus facilities, utilities, or grounds; creating tracking of new resources and plant; providing specialty maps, analysis, information, and reports using GIS as a tool; obtaining needed data through GPS and surveying equipment; and assisting department personnel in monitoring, reporting, and utilization of department data metrics. Minimum qualifications: a Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. Preferred qualifications: four years documented experience with Geographic Information Systems; knowledge and experience using ESRI ArcGIS software; professional certification from ESRI ArcGIS; and a valid driver's license.
