The Wildlife Conservation Society's Cambodia Program seeks a Senior REDD+ GIS Analyst based in its Mondulkiri office to lead the geospatial components of REDD+ projects, including spatial data analysis, remote sensing interpretation, mapping, and modeling for forest monitoring, reporting, and verification.
Remote sensing responsibilities
- process satellite imagery from platforms like Sentinel and Landsat for forest monitoring;
- conduct land cover classification and change detection;
- monitor forest fires using MODIS and VIIRS data; and
- generate UAV imagery analysis.
GIS responsibilities
- maintain spatial databases;
- produce cartographic materials;
- deliver training in GIS/remote sensing;
- coordinate with stakeholders on data standardization;
- integrate field systems like SMART and EarthRanger; and
- conduct ground verification and law enforcement spatial analysis support.
Requirements
Requires:
- a Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, forestry, environmental science or a related field;
- advanced proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, ENVI and ERDAS;
- programming skills in Python, JavaScript or GEE;
- fluent Khmer and proficient English; and
- a minimum of 3-5 years relevant professional experience.
