GIS Technician

Warren County Stormwater is hiring a GIS Technician to support the maintenance and dissemination of data and applications in the GIS environment. The technician collaborates with team members to meet GIS information needs while working both independently and in field settings.

Essential Duties

• Coordinate collection, editing, and dissemination of Warren County Stormwater infrastructure data.
• Perform data collection, spatial analysis, and create thematic maps.
• Maintain spatial data and generate GIS reports.
• Collect field data using GPS units.
• Train intern staff in GPS data collection procedures.
• Coordinate data sharing among partner agencies.
• Conduct field screening for illicit discharge detection.
• Represent the agency at community events and professional conferences.

Qualifications Required

• Applicants need a GIS certificate or associate's degree in Geography, Cartography, GIS, or a closely related field and at least two years of experience.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Required skills include GIS data knowledge, Esri desktop software proficiency, spatial data analysis capability, GPS system operation, and a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of SQL databases and ArcGIS Server is desirable.
